Airplane:
Participants arriving to Slovenia by airplane are advised to book Ljubljana “Jože Pučnik” Airport (LJU) as the final destination. Ljubljana Airport is connected to all major European airports by frequent flights. The Ljubljana Airport is located 20 km north of Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia, whereas the distance to Kranjska Gora is 67 km. Other airports at reasonable road distances to Kranjska Gora are the Klagenfurt Airport (KLU) in Austria (60 km distance), the Trieste Airport (TRS) in Italy (185 km), the Zagreb Airport (ZAG) in Croatia (240 km) and the Venice Marco Polo Airport (VCE) in Venice, Italy (325 km). Some low–fare air carriers are connecting these airports to other European airports.
Transportation from Ljubljana Airport to Kranjska Gora by Shuttle service:
Once you are at the Ljubljana Airport, the trip to Kranjska Gora can be continued by using ground transportation offered by the Hotel Kompas (the ICQ14 conference site). Booking is arranged via the ICQ14 Registration, Hotel Booking and Conference Fee Form. The cost of a car transportation (1 – 3 persons) is 80 EUR per car, a van transportation (4 – 8 persons) costs 120 EUR per van, whereas a minibus transportation (9 – 18 persons) costs 160 EUR per minibus. The vehicles are parked in front of the Arrivals terminal. Hotel Kompas will collect transportation requests from the participants and will group them in a most efficient way to minimize the transportation price. The actual price per person will depend on the type of a vehicle and the number of travellers (e.g., a single passenger in a car will pay 80 EUR, whereas two persons in a car will pay 40 EUR each,…). Payment needs to be done at the Hotel Kompas reception desk upon arrival (either in cash or by a credit card).
Hotel Kompas also offers transportation to Kranjska Gora from the Airport of Klagenfurt (KLU), Austria. The same prices apply as for the transfer from the Ljubljana Airport.
Another possibility to reach Kranjska Gora from the Ljubljana Airport is to use GoOpti Shuttle service, which offers ground transportation at moderate prices. Reservation and payment of the transfer needs to be arranged in advance via the ICQ14–dedicated GoOpti web page. GoOpti will inform interested parties on the price upon booking (depending on the departure window, etc.). The GoOpti shuttle vans are parked in front of the Arrivals terminal. The travelling time to Kranjska Gora is about 50 minutes. The return trip from Kranjska Gora to the Ljubljana Airport can be organized in the same way.
Transportation from other Airports (Klagenfurt, Trieste, Zagreb, Venice) and other cities of selected EU countries to Kranjska Gora by GoOpti Shuttle service:

GoOpti is a door–to–door shuttle service and can carry out road transfers from/to many European cities in selected EU countries (Austria, Croatia, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain). For example, participants travelling to ICQ14 Kranjska Gora from Frankfurt, Germany, can order the GoOpti road transportation for the whole route. Booking is made via the ICQ14–dedicated GoOpti web page. Astonishingly, a direct door–to–door ground transfer may be faster and cheaper than a combined transfer, involving travel by airplane and ground transportation.
Bus:
From the Ljubljana Airport there are no direct bus lines to Kranjska Gora. Direct bus transportation to Kranjska Gora is available from the Ljubljana Bus Station (see the timetable and prices here). The travelling time is about 2 hours. You can also first take a bus from the Ljubljana Airport to the nearest city – Kranj (see the timetable and prices here) – and then take another bus to Kranjska Gora (this will be the bus coming from the Ljubljana Bus Station). The timetable is available here or here. The bus transportation is less convenient than the GoOpti and the Hotel Kompas shuttle services.
Train:
Arriving by train either from the south (Ljubljana) or from the north (Austria), the train station nearest to Kranjska Gora is Jesenice (20 km from Kranjska Gora). From there you can take a bus to Kranjska Gora (see the timetable here).
